Overall rating 6/10 (Oct 2007, Marianne V. Rotterdam, Netherlands)

The Hostal Roma has a lot of charm and historic character but looks as if it needs a good paint job - just like all the buildings in central Lima. The rooms are not fantastic but the bed was comfortable and clean throughout. It is conveniently positioned close to the Plaza de Armas where you will find the Cathedral and Presidential Palace. There are also some good restaurants nearby. I paid 15 US dollars for a single room with private bathroom and shower. There was always hot water. I spent 2 nights at this hotel. It is a little rundown but a good place to meet with other travelers, friendly staff, more than suited my needs, good value I think.
