Description:

Sol y Luna (Sun and Moon)  was opened in 1998 and is located about 3km west of Urubamba in the direction of Ollantaytambo. This is a luxurious complex of 28 self-contained circular cottages with rustic decor, spacious gardens restaurant, outdoor pool, gym and spa (jacuzzi & massage). In fact it has just about everything to make a stay in the Sacred Valley a great experience. The hotel is owned and managed by a French-Swiss couple, Marie-Helene Miribel and Franz Schilter who also designed the lodge. The couple also run Viento Sur, an adventure travel agency that offers mountain biking, trekking and horse-riding. The hotel even has its own stables with twenty or so beautiful and well-cared-for Peruvian horses (caballos de paso). If that is not enough Marie-Helene and Franz offer parapenting lessons and are the only instructors in Cusco with international certification.
