Description:

The Sonesta Posada del Inca is more like a small village than a standard hotel. It has 84 comfortable rooms spread out amongst gardens, courtyards, plazas, fountains and even a small chapel which was brought in whole from a nearby mountain village. The entrance to the hotel is through a beautiful 16th century building which was formerly the Santa Catalina de Sena monastery. A third of the rooms can be found in this section of the hotel, these rooms tend to have more character than those in the more modern buildings. One is even said to be haunted! However even the modern rooms have been built in a colonial style - spacious, high ceilings and very comfortable. There is also a nice restaurant (US$15 buffet lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Sundays) visited by several tour buses as part of their Sacred Valley tour, and an interesting little museum with a range of ancient ceramics and textiles. Recently the hotel has introduced a health spa with jacuzzi, massages and health treatments. the hotel can arrange local activities including mountain biking US$10 per hour or US$50 per day, river rafting, horse riding & hiking.
