Description:

The hotel was formerly a colonial house and has 20 large rooms with a courtyard surrounded by a traditional-style balcony. There is also a restaurant. The hotel has become so popular that they have opened another one nearby called Niņos II. Neither of the hotels are located in particularly safe areas so it is always worth taking a taxi back at night.

"large, art deco rooms" - Lets Go Travel Guide (Peru Ecuador & Bolivia). Listed in the South American Handbook and the Reise Know-How Guide to Peru (Dutch Guidebook)

Services:

Hot water, restaurant, laundry service, Dutch, English, German and French spoken. Tourist information.

Niņos Hotel has become popular because of its efforts to help street children in Cusco. 12 boys have been adopted permanently by Jolanda the Dutch owner of the hotel. All the profits from the hotel go into helping street children. They run two soup kitchens for children where everyday 300 children get a free meal.

Overall Rating 9/10 (15 December 2007 Ruud Graat, NL)

"Ninos was our favourite place to stay on our trip to Peru. Not only is it an excellent cause, but the value is fantastic. The staff were always very helpful. Ninos is very quaint with a lovely courtyard which boasts a fountain around which you can enjoy their excellent breakfast deal. The rooms are very simply decorated and are extremely clean. Very highly recommended."
